Do you want to cook a scrumptious dinner for a large gathering of friends within a small budget and limited time? If so, the Italian speciality, spaghetti with meat balls can be a delicious choice. Very healthy and equally delicious, this dish can appeal to anybody's taste buds.

Start with gathering all the necessary ingredients which you can easily pick up from any local market. For the sauce you will need 3 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, 36 ounces or 1 large can of blended Italian tomatoes, half a cup of chopped onion, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 2 small cans of tomato puree, Parmesan cheese, 2 cloves of chopped garlic, 1 tablespoon of sugar, teaspoon black pepper powder, salt to taste and half a teaspoon of dried basil. For the meat balls you will require 2 pounds of fat free minced meat (preferably beef), 2 large eggs, 3 sliced of bread (crumbled), half a cup finely sliced onions, half a cup of milk, half a teaspoon of black pepper powder, one clove of crushed garlic, 2 tablespoon of chopped parsley and salt according to taste. Besides this you will need spaghetti for six servings.

Once you have all the necessary ingredients ready for the dish, start with preparing the meat balls. You'll need a small bowl to beat the eggs and milk together. Add the bread crumbs to this mixture of milk and egg and keep it aside for 5 minutes. Next put in chopped parsley, salt, pepper, chopped onion and chopped garlic along with the minced beef. Mix it very well and form about 24 meat balls out of the whole mixture. Next grease a large baking dish very well and arrange the meat balls on it. Bake the meat balls for about 25 minutes at a temperature of 450 degrees. As the meat balls get ready, start preparing the spaghetti sauce. In a large pan, heat extra virgin olive oil over a medium flame. Next add the chopped onions and saut till they become golden brown. Add the blended tomato and tomato puree along with the chopped garlic, sugar, salt, pepper and oregano and let the mixture boil. Next cover the pan and let the mixture cook over medium flame for about half an hour. Add the meat balls to the sauce after adjusting the seasoning. Next let the meat balls and the sauce cook together for about an hour. Don't forget to stir in between to avoid lump formations. Boil water in a large sauce pan and add some salt and few droplets of olive oil to it. Cook the spaghetti in the salted water according to the directions given on the packets. Drain the cooked spaghetti and put some cold water on it. Drain it again and arrange it on a serving dish. Add the meat balls on top and pour the tomato sauce over it. Garnish the dish with grated Parmesan cheese and spring onions and serve steaming hot.
